Privacy Policy — Drift

Overview
Drift is an AI voice companion app designed to provide conversational support for moments of anxiety, overwhelm, and sleeplessness. We take your privacy seriously.
Data Collection
Voice Audio
When you use voice input, your audio is recorded locally on your device and sent to a secure third-party speech-to-text service for transcription. This audio is processed in real-time and is not stored on any server after transcription is complete.
AI Conversations
After transcription, your text is sent to our AI agent service to generate a response. Conversation transcripts are stored locally on your device only. We do not retain copies of your conversations on external servers.
Local Storage
Drift stores the following data locally on your device:
- Conversation history and transcripts
- App preferences and settings
- Breathing exercise usage data
- Pattern/mood tracking data (if used)
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat for subscription management. RevenueCat may process transaction data in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not share your personal information with RevenueCat beyond what is necessary for payment processing.
Microphone & Speech Recognition
Drift requires microphone access to enable voice input. When you hold the speak button and release it, your voice is recorded and sent to our speech-to-text provider for transcription. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
Analytics & Tracking
No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs are used by Drift for user behavior analytics. Gus Digital Solutions does not collect data about your usage patterns, device information, or location. RevenueCat is used for subscription management and may process purchase history for subscription validation (marked Analytics under Apple's privacy taxonomy for accuracy, though it is transactional, not behavioral).
Data Retention
- On-device data: All conversation history, preferences, and patterns stored locally can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.
- Audio data: Voice recordings are temporarily processed and immediately deleted after transcription. We do not retain audio files.
- Subscription data: Managed by RevenueCat in accordance with their data retention policies.
Children's Privacy
Drift is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Third-Party Services
Speech-to-Text
We use third-party speech recognition services to convert your voice recordings to text. These services process audio data temporarily for transcription purposes only.
AI Response Generation
Your transcribed text is processed by our AI agent service to generate contextual, supportive responses.
Subscription Management
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission. However, no method of electronic transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored locally by Drift
- Delete your conversation history (by uninstalling the app or using any built-in delete functions)
- Revoke microphone access at any time through iOS Settings

Changes to This Policy
